Mini update: Oversleeping to Madrid

How was your xmas lads? (huhu, British slang) Mine was expensive. No proper restaurants were opened, and I went out with some Malaysians. So obviously they chose to eat at Chinatown because:

  1. We Asians.
  2. It was one of the only places that were still opened.
But them Chinatown store owners. Sneaky people! Cash only! 20% service charge! All the menu suddenly had an increase in price! Oof my budget!

Overslept my initial waking up time to get to the airport to Madrid. Which means, theoretically, I can make it on time to my gate if I was to just rush out within 20 minutes of waking up...

...and that's what I did.

I was planning to wake up early, and pack my bags (as they were still drying on the clothing rack), so I kinda just stuff them into my bag. Brushed my teeth, and ate an orange, and rushed out to the tube.

Got to the tube on time. Need to top up my oyster card because it cost 5 pounds to get there. Lo and behold, there's an elderly Spanish couple in front of me struggling to use the machine. Ahhhh mah gawsh... the tube people came and help them out, so its finally my turn, top up my card, and rush down to the tube. The train was already there, almost looking like it was waiting for me!

At the end, made it just in time for my boarding. Didn't get to eat anything by the way.

First layover is at Brussels. 20 minutes layover. Got the fattiest I have in Starbucks just so I could get my proper calories for the day. Rushed to the boarding gate, and relaxed for the next 2 hours. I got to finish my book "Math with Bad Drawings", now on to "Angry White Pyjamas".

I finally landed. My friend told me shes waiting for me, and I told her I'm waiting for her. Turns out she was waiting for me at departures and I was at arrivals. Lots of scurrying around and finally got to her place. Showered and slept. Man, what a tiring day.

The next day (which is today), basically spent the whole day on the family's work computer, working on my resume. Turns out the dad is some master resume reviewer, and I'm constantly getting my resume reviewed. That's about it. This trip is a more peaceful trip. Hopefully I will get a job by the time I reach Canada!

Tomorrow we're going on a hiking trip! I didn't bring any of my more sporty equipment, so I'm wearing most of the mom's stuff, because I apparently fit all her clothing. Yeah!
