Unfortunately, not everyone in my house have seen both, so I can't really talk about it at home, let alone the internet!
I can only say that, since I've only officially started Game of Thrones at season 7, I don't have much connection with the characters (it seems everyone really liked Tormund). Because of that, my favourite character is 100% based off looks. So, who in my books, is the coolest looking dude ever? Well, I've met him first during the Wight Hunt episode, where a bunch of manly mans decided to go capture a wight alive. Also, I've been playing lots of Skyrim recently, so I've been accidentally calling them Draugrs. Anyway, my favourite character is obviously, Lord Beric Dondarrion.

| Lord Beric Dondarrion Flaming sword was like +100 points. |
Was Lord Beric a cool dude in the previous seasons? No clue. But I just go ahead with it anyway, cause his character design is super cool.
Anyway, since this battle would be at Winterfell (not really a spoiler, that's like saying the bad guy of Avengers is Thanos), I thought the battle would be called "The Battle of Winterfell". But apparently not, because there was already a previous "Battle of Winterfell", but the battle has a cooler name so it's all good.
That being said, while watching the episode, I was mentally keeping notes on what I should google (I leave my phone in my room while we're watching it). There are things I kind of know, but not really, such as the Three-eyed raven. I kinda get it, but not really? Then I had to google what's House Umber, and who Lianna is (my roommate kept on telling me she's the "little lord", not like that means anything to me). I know there's a Lyanna Stark or something, but not another Lianna. And then, for the entire episode, I kept on referring Tyrion Lannister as Tirion Fordring. My roommates just goes like "huh, what?" and then I constantly have to correct myself. Either way, during my googling session. You know, when you miss out the entire 6 seasons, I just kept on clicking links after links. I was checking out the Night King, and then I'm reading about those Forest people, and then... blehhh
The other thing is that my other roommate finally returned from his work term. As you know, late night St John's flight are the cheapest, so I was the guy who was awake at like 2am to open the door for him. From that point on, my sleep schedule has been absolutely messed up. We kept on staying up till the late night to catch up. It's nice, but again, sleep schedule. Also, since he's been gone for 4 months, he doesn't have any fresh ingredients, but he does have lots of instant noodles that he brought back from Malaysia, so we've been having like a feast with everyone.... except it's all instant noodles (and luncheon meat), no fresh vegetables. Delicious, but extremely unhealthy. It's almost the 3rd day since he's been back but he hasn't went to do his groceries yet. I offered some of my fresh ingredients to him of course, but even I need to ration it wisely since I bought it with one person in mind, MYSELF, mwahahaha.

| He also brought back award winning gin, and a baby's first chopsticks for our other roommate that doesn't know how to use chopsticks. |
Not just that, he knows that I like anime, so for my souvenir of sorts, he brought back a K-on!! figurine. My only issue with that is that I've not seen a single episode of K-on!! So I guess, it's time for me to watch the show, don't wanna be called a poser~
Speaking about something totally irrelevant, I bought a new thermos. It's pretty. It's white and blue, with a flowery design, so it reminds of me of the Ming Dynasty style porcelains (青花). The thermos boasts it could keep cold drinks cold for 24 hours and hot drinks hot for 12 hours. Pretty good, been bringing it with me everywhere I go. It's been awhile since I last used a paper cup ^^
Now with that preamble, my other roommate got a metal straw from her girlfriend, and she's been using it. I personally don't want a metal straw because it's difficult to clean. Yes I know it comes with it's own brush, but when you're living with other people, such things can go "missing" easily (probably thrown away). I brought this up because something happened between two of my roommates. The one with the straw and the other one who thinks he's hot shit.

So, those two are colleagues. One day, metal straw bought an iced drink from Tim Hortons, and used her own straw. The other fella decided to mock her, saying: "You're not saving any turtles with that straw." Personally, I've given up on that guy. I pretty much stopped talking to him for almost a year, other than the usual "good morning", "hey", and the more commanding "please take out the rubbish", and "please pay the rent" (like seriously, our landlord let us know about the rent 10 days before the start of the next month, and he always pays his share like 12 hours before the 1st of the next month, it's annoying). But yeah, obviously that comment annoyed my metal straw friend. Why wouldn't it? Even after she told me about it, I rolled my eyes. My thought was basically: "I mean, I expected it from him, but still....." And then apparently the next day, she forgot to bring her metal straw. So what she did was that she still ordered the same drink, but she just drank it straight from the cup. Yeah? And of course he shows up and goes all: "So where's the straw now?? You gave up trying to save the environment?" And then proceed to go like "Man, you're turning white, suddenly so caring about the environment." He speaks as though it's a bad thing. There's many thing wrong with that comment, but ughhh, I really gave up on him.
Still job hunting. Man, its tough. It's an extremely soul crushing process. One spends so much time on curating your resume and cover letter to fit the job. Not only that, if you weren't selected to the second phase, they don't even bother sending a "sorry, you weren't selected" email, and you just have to assume you're no longer in their consideration after awhile. It's that feeling all over again~
I have attended so many job hunting workshops. The toughest thing about all these workshops is that their examples and assumptions is that we all simply have relevant job experiences. I mean, most students' part time job are things like McDonalds, or selling clothes or what not. And the other most annoying thing is, a lot of these events are advertised as "science job hunting workshops", meaning that its helping science students (such as myself) to help improve my job searching abilities. But, the people hosting these, does not have a science background. Not only that, the guests that they invite over, ALSO does not have a science background. Everyone they brought is more from the marketing/advertising team, so you know, the people who can actually talk and advertise their product. Because of that, those part time jobs they had during their school days are actually relevant, because they actually need to be able to sell stuff. The jobs we want though is more "office-y" or "lab-y". We stay in our cubicle/lab, staring at the computer for hours and what not. So pretty much, most of us were constantly complaining that "yes, we can see how your examples work for you, but it isn't working for us", and then they just refer us to the internet. What do you think we were using before coming to the event? Newspapers? It's infuriating.
The shittiest part is that I'm spending my free time on job hunting. It's truly soul crushing, opening up that word document again and again... ughhh x_x
EDIT: So we're suppose to have a Malaysian lunch today. One of the Malaysian families here invited us to dine with them. We were supposed to meet up at the bus stop and then take the bus there together. But then, one of us (the one who we heard this from) told us she's running late, so we waited for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, she told us again she's running super late... so we waited for another 30 minutes (total: an hour waiting). After that, she told us that she made a mistake, and that it's actually tomorrow.
So now... my plans for this afternoon is ruined. I didn't cook and defrost anything. And my plans for tomorrow is also up in flames.
好烦啊。。。
