The Bungler

  Don't you just love receiving random scam emails? Here's a few that I kept because it's just so adorable. I don't keep those that looks really legit though, those are scary, and could really fool someone who is just tech savvy enough but not enough. I'm just showing the ones that are more... "out there".

Adding the check for viruses at the bottom is a nice touch, as avast is one of the more popular antivirus software.

  So, my brother and I were doing what we were always doing, sharing whatever songs we found that we think is cool and we think the other party would enjoy it too. I've been listening to lots of J-rock so I've been consistently sharing with him some songs. Some he likes, some not so much, but what's certain is that he's definitely been taking the initiative in listening to music of other languages, as now he's sharing with me his favourite J-rock tunes too (his favourite J-rock band now is ONE OK ROCK, as he's been sharing with me songs from them recently).

  So one day, I was telling him how nice my discover weekly this week was (and I was copy pasting youtube links of whatever song I find cool), and he was doing the same. Apparently, one of the songs that appeared on his discover weekly was Socker by Kent. I immediately recognized something there, and that it isn't English.

  Also quite lately, I've been into the shoegazing genre. I've also been constantly telling my brother about it, and I guess he caught wind of it and true enough, Kent was a Swedish alt rock/shoegaze band of sorts, as immediately hearing the song, I was hooked.

  Going back to shoegazing, one of the songs that got me into the shoegaze genre was that I've noticed that my playlists has been slowly filled up with songs of a certain style. At that time, I have no idea what genre that is, and it was really difficult for me to find similiar tunes when one does not know where to even start searching. So what I do, is just listen to the rest of the artist's discography, and hope for the best. The band that started this was of course, Kinoko Teikoku (you might have read about this band if you've read my blog post titled: Night of the Osmanthus, 9/22/18). Just to recap, despite having no idea what they were singing, there was this one song that immediately just clicked. Looking up the translations only makes emotions... more amplified.... There was just something in it, and at that time, that song (金木犀の夜, Night of the Osmanthus) literally conveyed my feelings at that time (even if I didn't knew it then).

  Anyway, so I had Kent's song on shuffle basically. They all sounded nice and all, but then... there was one song, in which, the same thing happened when I was listening to Kinoko Teikoku. There's a song, in which I have a strange attraction to. Yes, their songs are nice, but then there's this one song, I can feel it in my bones, and that song was... Klåparen (The Bungler).

  Of course I had too google the lyrics and all. And even after translating it to English, I had to look up the definition of a bungler (which is a person who bungles), and then I have to look up the definition of bungle, because that's how the dictionary works >:( But boy oh boy are the lyrics oof-ish. I hadn't had the chance (or the drive) to look up the lyrics of other songs, but meh, whatevs.

  The cool part of it is that I decided to look them up on YouTube (just to check out the comments), and lo and behold, the video has some English comments in it. They are very basic English comments, turns out its cause they are a bunch of South Korean commentors. Why did they show up on Kent's video? Apparently because a documentary in South Korea used their music, that's why a bunch of them showed up to show their support. Also, upon reading those comments, it's super cool to find other alt-rock Korean bands cause they're kinda just promoting their own music scene too, which means.... more things to listen to!

  The other cool part of Kent is that there's this website: Kent.nu. It boasts to be "the former official website of Sweden's biggest rock band". The cool part about this website is that, not only does it have all the lyrics to all of their songs, they have all the chords too!

  It's incredibly difficult to find chords for non-English songs (at least, to my knowledge) on English websites. If you want Japanese songs, it's easier to look for it on, perhaps, some Japanese ultimate-guitar (but good luck navigating it). Kent.nu's website is easy enough to navigate, so is jätte cool dawg.

  Anyways, back to work.
