Final Stretch Part I

Classes are almost done! There are 2 more stochastic processes and survey sampling classes, 4 more probability and Japanese classes, and 1 more probability tutorial! Mah gawd!! I barely had any time to do more own things and woosh there goes time!

So for this entire week, I was working with the filming of one of the videos I was tasked to make. This one is the group one. Turns out, there were lots of limitations in terms of filming in campus. We were supposed to film a video for international students that are coming in next semester. It was originally a video on what to expect in St John's in the winter, what should your first course of action be, and what facilities and services Memorial University provide. One of the issue is that many of the services Memorial provides are not exactly tied to Memorial University, so we had to talk to their HR to get the permission, yaddi yaddi yadda. Some agreed, some didn't agree; this caused us lots of problems, as we are constantly needed to rewrite the script, and change location, and what not.

Today's weather was pretty meh. It was cold, we couldn't shoot on location because it's someone else's property (the gym, the cafes, etc..), so we decided to shoot outdoors rather than indoors. It's the best we could do last minute. We kind of just had to endure the wind and all those things. We also had to bring all of our winter gear, so we could film us wearing them, to give them an idea what to expect of the upcoming winter. It was an extremely tiring day, like really really tiring. My winter jacket + winter boots combination, when not worn, is apparently REALLY heavy! Had to lug them around the entire campus. But in the end, after using the entire week, we are finally done filming what's supposed to be a maximum 5 minute long video. Pretty amazing that a video that short takes more than 5 hours to film eh? It would originally be longer too if not everything got shot down at the drawing board!

Got home pretty late after filming. I was super excited to finally be able to cook a good meal and then go to sleep. I had lots of fresh vegetables in the fridge and I was thinking of making some vegetable ramen thing. But.... sigh.... I came home. I was home alone, yippee! No one to fight for the toilet and the kitchen! But as I entered the kitchen...

I made instant noodles. That's it. After that, I showered, watched some videos, did my daily duolingo, then went to sleep. Somewhere in between I wrote this blog too. But yeah.... whatever....

A good thing happened this week though, I adopted another plant! This time, it's a Wandering Jew. So now, I actually have 4 house plants! 3 to be exact, one's not yet budding yet, I'm quite concerned about it. I took some pictures of my extremely sad Spider Lily and showed it to some of the more experienced plant owners. They said it's growing fine, despite its depressing outlook. Ooohhhkaaayyy.... I trust them on this more than I trust myself, so maybe I should stop worrying about it? We'll see in a week.

My bike's been acting up again, I think its time for me to replace the brakes. I noticed I ain't breaking very well and it's the front brakes. It's been the front brakes for months. I constantly got it tightened (cause apparently it loosens), but then it seems like it keeps on loosening itself up. Gah! So annoying! I'm so happy the weekend is approaching! I'm gonna go to the Starbucks where my classmate works at, get a free drink from him (hehehe), and try to finish up my last assignments of the year!
